Place picnic tables, restrooms, food stands and other building objects to create a one-of-a-kind zoo. Test your zoo manager skills to maximise guest satisfaction, animal happiness, and zoo profits. Challenge yourself to complete games with budgetary, animal, and creative constraints.
Zookeeper Mode:
Be prepared to dig right in and get your hands dirty when you take the plunge into Zookeeper mode, a new game mode that takes you behind the barriers and the fences for a truly hands-on approach to the care and feeding of your animals and their environments.
When we say Zookeeper mode is hands-on, we're not just kidding around; in Zookeeper mode, you can feed and water your animals, empty trash cans, scoop up piles of poop, and more. You'll gain invaluable insight into the daily challenges (and rewards) faced by your zoo staff as they work to keep your animals and guests happy and your zoo up-and-running (not to mention making money) every day.
Guest Mode:
Climb down from your lofty zoo-creator perch and into your guests' perspective with Zoo Guest mode, the eye-opening new first-person view in Zoo Tycoon 2.
Follow in your guests' footsteps and see how the exhibits you've created are faring with both their animal inhabitants and the humans who have come to visit them. Stroll along pathways and find out whether the viewing areas you've designed really do maximise your guests' views of the amazing animals that call your zoo home. Not sure whether you placed that binocular stand in just the right spot for your guests to catch sight of that cougar taking a cat nap? Jump into Zoo Guest mode to check out the vantage point for yourself, and then adjust the stand's position for maximum effect.
Photo Safari:
With Photo Safari mode, when the poop flies, you'll be there to catch it (with your camera, of course), along with all the other magical (and some not so magical) moments that define a day in the life of your zoo. Whether it's a tiger silently stalking its prey in a mixed-use savannah exhibit, or a barrellful of monkeys swinging' from the trees in a tropical rain forest exhibit, you can capture any of your zoo's spectacular sights with a single click.
Once you've shot a roll of film or two, you can organise your favourite photos into themed albums and share them with your friends, family, and fellow Zoo Tycoon 2 fans all over the world. Share a single shot or the whole album -- it's your choice.
Habitat Editor:
With a single click of the mouse, you can wield the power of tractors, bulldozers, and other earth-moving equipment to quickly create mountains, valleys, plateaux, and more as you build the ultimate animal exhibits using the Habitat Editor tools.
Now you can design naturalistic animal exhibits that go far beyond a square patch of grass with a chain-link fence around it. With the Habitat Editor tools, you can manipulate terrain with ease to create waterfalls, elevated walkways, water features, and natural boundaries for the zoo of your dreams. Not only will your guests love these sophisticated environments, but your animals will, too.
Zoo Management
Zoo Tycoon 2 lets you build your own dream zoo and delivers new challenges not seen before in other tycoon games. More management choices add even more gameplay depth to an already deep game and provide you, the player, much more control in your quest to become a master Zoo Tycoon. Careful decisions will have to be made in order to simultaneously maximise guest satisfaction, animal happiness, and zoo profits. Releasing animals back into the wild might win awards and increase conservation efforts but also negatively impact guest happiness because the animal isn't in the zoo anymore. Saving money to acquire more land or build bigger attractions might require reducing investment in conservation or breeding endangered species. In Zoo Tycoon 2, you'll need to plan and play wisely in order to build a world-class zoo.
